How do you know it's the right pump?

The vendor admitted that he sold me the wrong one after checking the car's serial number.  He now sent me a pump that actually looked exactly like the original that I had in the car.  Unfortunately I had tossed the old one a year ago after the install.
This is the best I can go by.
If the pump is correct why would my system pressure be so low?  Could it be that my gauge is not right, or I am using it the wrong way?

I'm sorry I have not kept up like I should, I have been very busy trying to get everything done so I can take off a week and go to Germany. Luise is having her birthday party there and I have to meet with the bosch people too.

Is your tank clean?
strainer clean?
new filter?
getting proper volts and amps at the fuel pump?
right pump? whats the bosch number?

You installed a new accumulator did you test it? do you know how to test it?

How would I know the condition of the tank?  I have thought about this...
Is the strainer accessible without removing the tank or having to pour out the content of the tank?
Filter is one year old.
It's getting 13V at the pump but I didn't measure current.
The vendor this time used my car's serial number to send me the correct pump.  I put it and then shipped the one that was in the car using the box the new came in.  I didn't get a chance or thought of looking up the pump's number but it did look exactly like the original from a year ago.
The accumulator is brand new from Bosch that I won on eBay; I know, most stuff I got from eBay has been crap lately but regular prices for this stuff are eating me alive while I still don't have a clue as to what's wrong with the car.  So far it has been a troubleshooting by throwing in parts but going nowhere.
Nothing is a guaranteed even when I pay premium I manage to get wrong parts and end up spending TWICE as much for most repairs.  Boy don't I know it!

Sorry to be so late, I have been very busy this last week. I am relaxing in Germany now. You can unscrew the large nut that your fuel line screws into, this is the strainer, you can remove the fuel gauge sending unit and look in the tank.

Me too, I wasn't home all week.  Do I need to empty the tank before hand?

I have checked the pot and adjusted the flap so there is the same exact clearance all around.
