CIS Problem

(1/1)

Rushurik:
Hello. I am new to the forum.
Just recently, I purchased a 1986 500sec. There seems to be a problem with the fuel system. The car turns forever and does not start. The only way i started it for a few seconds was by direct fuel carbeurating.

Checked the incoming line into the distributor and there was no pressure.

Went to the back.  After disconnecting the outgoing circuit hoses the fuel filter was the only one without any pressure but after i changed that, and got pressure, the car didn't start either. (constant turning).

This time when i checked the incoming line into the distributor it had steady pressure.  I blew out the lines via air, also,  and they were clean. Proceeded onto the distributor. Disconnected the injector incomings and realized there was nothing going into the injectors. Messed around with the distributor a little and now there is a little bit of fuel dripping out of the injector lines. Now the car starts for a few seconds, and shuts off.

I beleive the root of all evil here is the distributor. But before i get another one and realize that there may be something else i need to order, do you know if this problem can be caused by anything else? A quick check diagnosis i can do? Im not very good with the electrical components or air/fuel components. Also, im 19, and just discovering the rewarding yet, at times, head into the wall  >:(  world of mercedes benz vehicles. Thank you very much.

CIS Flow Tech:
First see if the piston in the fuel distributor is stuck, then depress the airflow sensor plate while the fuel pump is running and see if the injectors spray. Then you will need to check system pressure, control pressure, and airflow sensor plate height.
