Fuel related problem
« on: March 12, 2011, 05:16:46 PM »
After complete overhaul of my M110.994 engine I also replaced all of the following
fuel related parts: Fuel pump, filter, relay, distributor, warm up reg., aux. air valve
injectors and accumulator. The WUR and Fuel Distrib. came from Germanstar and if
memory serves me, the  Aux. Air Valve as well. In addition the 'G' has new ignition
distrib., rotor, cap, wires and MB recommended Bosch plugs. Valves were also
recently adjusted. However I still have hesitation, especially in 2nd and 3rd gear
and noticed that the idle of 850 when the 'G' is fully warmed up, does not immediately
return to 850 when restarts are done. Was told this could be due to a bad sensor in
the mass air flow unit and I am having it replaced with a new one coming this week
from Germany. Was told that if this doesn't correct the problem, I will be given a test
to perform in order to see if the WUR is functioning properly. Am hoping that the one
I recently installed from Germanstar is not a problem and will know in about a week
from now. If so, I would serously think about installing a truly new unit and am hoping
I don't have to due to the high cost of that new part. Any input would be appreciated.
The 'G' has gone thru a complete restoration over the last two years and except for
this hesitation problem, has no other problems to speak of.
