Installing Painted Pannels on A-Pillar?
« on: July 01, 2011, 11:05:40 AM »
Hi~

Just before I had the car painted, I had to take the  painted metal panel on the passenger side A-pillar off because the top clip was broken.

Luckily, the paint people found it in the trunk and painted it to match.

I found a new clip and screw in the glove box when I bought it, so I do have a new clip and screw to replace it.

I have no problem putting the new clip on (ie: drilling-out the old broke-off screw), but how do I attach the panel back on the clips? I had no problem taking it off, lol. I am lucky I did not lose it! It was making a horrendous flapping noise in the wind when you drove, and I pretty-much just pulled it straight up and it slid off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The car is 98% done, and this would be one more step closer, lol.

Here are some pix.

Pic of the one that is attached on the driver's side:

Missing Panel: (It is the very top clip that broke)

What the clip looks like that I am replacing:

(The greenish reflection you see is the shirt I am wearing, lol).

Thanks,
