My garage mechanic is telling me that I need a new fuel tank
. I do not believe them for a multitude of reasons.
..Symptoms are A) trunk damp w/ diesel fuel and B) fuel is leaking in small/slow but constant drips down the R/R axle...My gas cap has a worn seal, which a forum reader said would cause the leakage into the trunk and that that was my problem. Assuming that that is is true(?), how would that explain a slightly ripped seal to leak fuel : down, under the car, and over the right rear axle??? And if my garage IS correct (getting a second opinion), any ideas of where to search for a new tank?? Have seen plastic tanks advertised on sponsors web sites, but 'match not found' is the end result! Where might I find a tank if truly needed?? Thanks...
