Steering play
« on: October 26, 2011, 11:31:04 AM »
Recently purchased 1976 450 SL.  The steering has about 3 inches of play in both directions.  With front tires off the gorund there is very little play when rotating back and forth.  Ideas?

If it isn't worn steering linkage, look toward the steering coupling or the steering box itself. Good luck!
