Greetings,

Today I tried to open the top and I had a gush of oil from the passenger-side top corner (where the visor open up).  I opened the front windshield frame and sure enough, oil would gush out right from the strut as soon as I engaged the top-down switch.

So I guess I need to change the strut. and idea how complicated un-assembling the assembly is?

alright, i opened up the top assembly and removed the top strut. removed the metal o-ring and walla: the plastic ring inside was shattered. so all i need is a part number of that o-ring. any idea where i can get a detailed parts catalog?

i have the same problem,let me know how the repair goes.im sure i can replace the part my self  but im worried about getting air in the lines

I changed mine last year, simple job. Just buy a new one here and unscrew the old one, its self explained and don't worry about the air.
