Hello,
I'm probably the only woman on this discussion board so please bear with...I just bought a 1978 450SL coupe (one of my dream cars)  *sight unseen*  :o

I'm in the DFW area of Texas and the car is in Seattle-Tacoma area. Any suggestions on a reliable car transport company? Quotes are running between $700 and $900. Reasonable since I paid half of what I could find the same car down here for...*it's the economy stupid*  ;)

Also, curious about the grey market cars...went to high school many years ago with a guy who did grey market imports of 'parts' from Germany and 'assembled' the cars on US soil (avoiding car import charges I think). Anyone have any details of these operations or how I might be able to identify if that's the type of car I just bought? The VIN on this project car is ALL numerical...no alphas.

Also, where do I find a owners manual and mechanics book?  Thanks in advance for any help, and patience, as many more stupid questions are sure to follow.

Hi to all,  New member and MB owner. I just bought a new to me 85 300TD. I had borrowed a friends for a few weeks after my until then primary vehicle was hit and wrecked. I liked it so much that I went and found one for myself. The car is in great condition for it's age. Only one or two major issues. The rest is minor mechanical and/or minor cosmetic. I've been having a ball working on it.
