Need to replace my key
« on: June 25, 2010, 04:57:39 PM »
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to order a 2nd key that is more reasonable than going through a Mercedes dealer?  Mine costs almost $400 through Mercedes!!  Can you give me any ideas?   :o

Keys are dealer-only, AFAIK.

No, you can order new keys by Serial No. or order key blanks from your dealer, to be cut elsewhere. Price is nowhere near $400.  :)

Great, thanks
Just replaced my keys from MB Honolulu, it costed me $250. ea, that's not a bad price, I heard it use to cost an additional $75.00 to program and check by a mechanic.  It took a week to come in, I ordered 2, just in case.

They send it to Texas.

Try another dealer.  $400 is way too much.  They typically run $225-250.
