Let's talk Bosch CIS

Please offer your best recourse on Bosch CIS.  You can show links but an additional brief synopsis on the link will be very helpful.  I also highly encourage a personal write up on troubleshooting procedures, photos... etc.

I hooked you up with the world's greatest living expert on Bosch CIS, he was willing to talk you through the diagnosis/repair on the phone, and you passed. It was like an offer from Albert Einstein to help with your physics homework...

I didn't pass; how did you get the impression that I did?  I talk to him on the phone then I went ahead and bought the equipment and tested my fuel pressure.  In my case all levels were within norms.  This means my stalling problem could be from another source.

This episode however got me interested in the topic, that's why I am posting this request so we can have a central location to learn about the Bosch CIS.

Gotcha. I recall he was going to talk you through the test and help you diagnose the issue a couple of days later.

I actually understood his directions on that day except for where to hook up the pressure tester for the cold start valve.  I figured it out once I found the test port and the cold start outlet to measure the fuel pressure differential between the upper and lower chambers.  There was no need for me to fiddle with the EHA since what I got was within specs.
Now it's very possible that I have a damping issue (fuel pressure regulator or fuel accumulator) under specific conditions.  Time will tell as hopefully this thread develops ;)

What would be nice is a pictorial unlike the bad copy in the Mercedes CD were one can't make tails from heads.  So if we can have a nice picture showing the hook up for the CIS tool, where the side with the lever should be and how to switch between measuring the upper chamber pressure to the lower to pay attention to the differential of .4 bars.

You need to hook a amp meter in-line to the EHA, set it to read ma and tell me what the current draw is when warm and idling.

I was able to balance the current to EHA between -1 to +1 mA.  It was like that before I made some adjustments to purposefully enrich the system but I was able to get it back ;)

Checking your airflow sensor plate rest position, do this with rest pressure in the fuel system, (run the fuel pump a few seconds)

Thanks, I checked the clearance and the up and down levels, they are all good!  That was very informative.
So far everything is as it should be as far as the plate.

I noticed that the car has NOT stalled lately after I completed my EHA and Lambda tweaking. What I also noticed is that the economy gauge is no longer registering dramatic changes when I am a stop while the car is still in gear.  It used to be over 1/4 of the way from the left now it's just under 1/8.  In addition the oil pressure seems to peg to 3 and stay there.  When the car used to stall the oil pressure would drop a little then starts to fluctuate just before a stall.

Let's hope that my crude adjustments did the trick ::)

It sounds fixed to me, I thought it would be a small problem, I know my techniques are cumbersome but I try to make sure we don't miss something and chase out tail all day.

I think you're right, you're a genius :)

I am thinking... Oh no, that's dangerous!  LOL, I have a rotary engine that I am playing with but has only two combustion chambers; is it possible to use a fuel distributor from a W201 (4 cyl) with complete CIS (I can get the computer and everything else from the junkyard) where only two outlets are used or joined together to form a pair?  I will have to check the fuel pressure specs for combustion inside a rotary for sure.  It's just an experiment; what do you think?

I would use a early K-jet non Lambda, maybe VW or Volvo then it will be all mechanical no electronic controls.
