Let's talk Vacuum
« on: February 01, 2009, 08:32:24 AM »
Yep, you guess it!  Our car have many vacuum components to control locks, transmission, heating/cooling control unit and much more.  Let's take this opportunity to discuss the basic mechanism behind this system, identify the main components throughout the car and of course how to identify leaks and repair them.

Since there seems to be no real vacum readings to relate to except for acceptable readings at certain spot, i would like to know if anybody else has just disconnected the vacum lines to everything and take a reading..mine is 15 inches at idle warm..'74 450 slc.. the line i used was the one for the map sensor on the drivers fenderwell .Jeff
